Origin: A Haitian delicacy, this dish is typically eaten with Black Rice(Du Riz Djon Djon) and Chicken. But this fine dish can be enjoyed with all the foods you would typically eat mac n cheese with.
INGREDIENTS
1 box of penne or large elbow macaroni
1 can of carnation milk
3 cups of grated cheese/Tete de mort
1 cup of diced sweet peppers and onions
2 sticks of butter ham (optional) salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Boil the Pasta according to box directions While it cooks Melt 1 ½ sticks of butter into a large pan stir in diced peppers and onions until they are tender Add in Salt & Pepper Continue to stir and add in milk and 2 cups of grated cheese little at a time. Drain The cooked Pasta Mix the pasta and the sauce you have made together. Grease a 9×11x2 inch pan with butter Pour pasta into pan, spread extra grated cheese and butter over the pasta Bake at 350° for 30 min or until top is golden brown.
